Bachelor Cognitive Science (Study Regulation 2019/20)
This page contains information for students who started their Bachelor’s program before the winter term 2024 and did not switch to the 2024 regulations.
The Bachelor’s program comprises a mandatory area, a mandatory elective area, the free electives, and the Bachelor’s thesis.
In the mandatory area, students build a foundation in the relevant disciplines Artificial Intelligence, Cognitive (Neuro)Psychology, (Computational) Linguistics, Neuroinformatics, Neuroscience, Philosophy for Cognitive Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, and Methods of Cognitive Science.
In the mandatory elective area, students choose five of these nine areas to develop their individual profiles according to their interests and academic goals.
In the final Bachelor’s thesis students demonstrate their ability to conduct independent research, apply academic knowledge, and contribute original insights to the field of study they are interested in.
